Eric Fields is the 9-year-old son of Thomas and Anne Fields, who both have office jobs at Delphi Data and Analytics . He is a short and energetic boy with light skin and blond hair. At school, he is often smiling and running around with his classmates. At home, he often plays around with his parent’s spirits (which take the forms of a cat and a dog respectively), when they are not busy helping their respective contractors.
Eric has fun at school and does about average in his school work. His favorite classes are art class and gym class, whereas he dislikes history class and math. He has several friends in his grade. Most of the students in his class don’t have spirits, but a few have contracted with one spirit already.
Eric is young and doesn’t pay much attention to the news, as such he does not know about the conflicts between the police and military, the rising crime in the city, and the actions of rogue spirits. Even if he did, he would likely not understand this behavior. Overall, Eric has a positive and optimistic view on life, and puts faith into the goodness of both humanity and the spirits.
Eric looks forward to having his own spirit, and constantly bugs his parents about letting him get one. Thomas and Anne believe that Eric is too young and inexperienced to summon and contract a spirit on his own, but are considering taking to a police-subsidised summoner who could perform most of the process for him and offer him a selection of safe, child-friendly spirits to choose from.
